NASA’s Kennedy Space Center To Host “DJ-Led Techno Party” At Event Next Month

NASA’s Kennedy Space Center will host a “DJ-led techno party” as part of its “Kennedy Under the Stars” after-hours event next month.

The event will debut on February 2, inviting visitors to experience their favorite Space Center attractions, but with a “dazzling twist” in which the visitor complex will be transformed with glow-in-the-dark elements, such as “Cosmic Glow Miniature Golf” and “eye-popping chalk art crafted by local artists.”

Soundtracked by live DJs, the event will also feature colorfully illuminated bar and lounge areas and an opportunity to meet veteran NASA astronauts Chris Ferguson and Nicole Stott. Attendees have been invited to come dressed in their “best space-themed costume.”

The space center adds that the visitor complex’s main attractions will remain open throughout the event with shorter wait times, meaning attendees can spend more time viewing flight-flown artifacts like the space shuttle Atlantis and a SpaceX Falcon 9 booster, in addition to on-site rides like Spaceport KSC and the Shuttle Launch Experience.

Select complex restaurants and stores will also be operational during the specially ticketed event. For an additional charge, visitors can try signature cocktails and menu items. Annual Kennedy Center pass holders will receive special discounts on food.

Founded in 1962 and located on Merritt Island, Florida, the Kennedy Space Center remains one of NASA’s primary launch sites for government and commercial space travel. It was home to the launch of the Apollo 11 mission, in which Neil Armstrong became the first person to walk on the surface of the moon.

Late last month, scientists at NASA’s Chandra X-ray Center developed a tool that gives users the power to produce music with data from space.

NASA’s Kennedy Space Center’s “Kennedy Under the Stars” event will run from 6:30PM to 9:30PM on Friday, February 2, 2024. Tickets and more information are available here.
