This documentary is very special to us because it is about you: the person on the dancefloor. — The five-stage framework in this film draws on the work of Arnold van Gennep and Émile Durkheim, and on contemporary research into music and social bonding by Robin Dunbar and colleagues. It is further informed by the writing of Victor Turner and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Its application to the experience of a live set is the interpretation of Rachel Giddings.
